ActionAid Palestine to Continue Responding to Needs of Some Marginalized Villages in Governorates of Bethlehem and Hebron to Combat COVID-19

Hebron-West Bank – ActionAid Palestine(AAP) continued its emergency interventions to address the needs of a number of marginalized  villages in the governorates of Bethlehem and Hebron in the south of West Bank.( including Khelet Al-Mayya, Al-Samou’, Al-Thahria, Beit Kahel,Yatta, Nahaleen, Beit Ummar,Husan, Beit Fajjar, Deheisha refugee camp  and old city of Hebron, H2). The response aimed at supporting 1055 infected Palestinian families of corona virus with the hygiene kits, in partnership with Alternative Information Center- Palestine (AIC) to promote their preventive measures and strengthen their resilience.

This emergency response was implemented by youth voluntary groups in the Palestinian villages and camps  in cooperation with national and governmental stakeholders in Governorates of Bethlehem and Hebron  in the south of West Bank and the Palestinian Ministry  of Social Development(MoSD), National Emergency Committee and Village Councils of targeted areas.

AAP’s response plan confirmed the importance of promoting young men and women’s leadership in preparedness and response actions taken to contain the spread of the virus. This engagement was achieved by supporting youth initiatives aiming to reach the infected families particularly families staying in health home quarantine and families whose livelihoods were lost due to the current state of emergency.
