ActionAid Palestine to Support “Anqa Cultural Exhibition” in Youth Culture Street in Hebron Governorate during COVID-19

Supporting Youth Creativities

 

West Bank-Governorate of Hebron -Through its project of “ Civil Peace” funded by the funded Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) , ActionAid Palestine (AAP) supported an entrepreneurial exhibition titled with “ Anqa Cultural Exhibition” .It supported the products  of youth who were affected by COVID-19.This exhibition which lasted for two days was organized in the street of Culture which was supported by AAP to offer a public space for youth in Hebron city where they can organize their different activities. Organizing this initiative was in line with of safety measures and social distance. 

The exhibition marketed and showed paintings and hand crafts produced by youth during COVID-19.Youth were also encouraged to make best use of their time and continue their projects despite of challenges and difficult economic conditions resulting from the spread of the  virus. This initiative provided talented youth and artists with painting tools to finalize their paintings which will be presented during the exhibition to express their reality. 

Eid Jala is one of the youth who led organizing this exhibition talked about the name of the exhibition “ Anqa Cultural Exhibition”  “ Anqa is  a legendary bird in the Palestinian culture that represents strength and renewability  that one could have after experiencing crisis. The idea of the exhibition was built on according to the symbolic meaning of that bird to show that Palestinian youth become stronger after crisis by presenting their creative products and hand crafts”.   

The project of the “Civil Peace” aims to reinforce the role of young people, particularly, young women, in fostering civic peace and culture of tolerance and solidarity during this crisis.
