Masarat Center to Launch First Training Course of Program of “Civil and Democratic Participation of Palestinian Youth 2020”

Developing Skills of Palestinian Youth of Strategic Thinking

Ramallah -West Bank -The Palestinian Center for Policy Research & Strategic Studies (MASARAT) launched the first training course of the program of “Civil and Democratic participation of Palestinian youth 2020” (CIV) which is implemented in partnership with ActionAid Palestine (AAP) and other local partners. Tens of trainees joined this training among  of 2000 applicants who applied for this training from West Bank and Gaza Strip via video conference.

The general director of MASARAT, Hani Al-Masri facilitated the opening session of the training which discussed the Palestinian Case from perspective of strategic thinking. He stressed the importance of the use of the tools of Strategic thinking and future studies in the Palestinian context to serve the Palestinian goals and interests.

The participants were divided into eight dialogue groups trying to answer three questions related to developments of the Palestinian case, its future developments and how it will achieve its goals.

The program aims to promote the different forms of civil and democratic participation strengthening communication between Palestinian communities. Youth will be provided with skills and tools so that they will be empowered to take initiatives and create changes.

The program will discuss the national Palestinian context and system, Zionism and system of Zionist dominance, strategic thinking, youth action, dynamics of power, change theory, public policies, preparing factsheets, advocacy plans and design and implementation of youth initiatives.

This training is the first of three other courses the center implements within this program during 2020 which includes two knowledge camps. There will be a youth conference at the end of the year highlighting the products of participants of the three training courses.
