ActionAid Palestine’s Project of “Start your Business” to Brief Youth on Reality of Vocational Training in Bethlehem Governorate
Bethlehem – West Bank-ActionAid Palestine (AAP) has organized a field visit for youth to Salesian Technical School in Bethlehem. This visit is one of the activities of AAP’s project of “Start your Business” funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in partnership with International Voluntary Service for Development (VIS ) which is an Italian NGO working in the economic development field, Bethlehem Business Incubator (BBI) and the Yunus Social Business Center (YSBC).The main goal of the project is promoting the social entrepreneurship among Palestinian youth.
The visit aimed at introducing youth to the reality of vocational education and trainings that are provided by Salesian Technical School and encourage them to join vocational majors specially the ones who do not join academic training. Youth were briefed about the most important and current vocational majors and importance of vocational training in creating job opportunities for Palestinian youth and helping them to overcome unemployment. Youth had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the schools and its majors. They had met with vocational counselor who stressed the importance of heading towards the vocational training and its opportunities.
It is worth mentioning that “Start Your Business” is a three-year program that aims to strengthen the economic empowerment of youth in Palestine through the development of a positive environment for the creation of new start-ups, traditional and social businesses in the areas Bethlehem, East Jerusalem, Hebron, Ramallah, Tulkarem, Jenin and Jericho.
