Those activities that were implemented in partnership with AAP’s local Partners and Palestinian Ministry of Health aimed at raising awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and self-checking for breast cancer.

Those activities targeted more than 465 women in marginalized areas in the south-east of Hebron Governorate including towns of Sikka, Jalajel, Al-Kum, southern area and Old city of Hebron(H2) and a number of towns in Gaza Strip as Al-Maharajah, Wadi Al-Salqah, Al-Musdar, Rafah and east Khan Younis. These activities were implemented in line with guidelines of COVID-19 safety measures.

Those activities were implemented in parallel to media messages that were conveyed through distribution of printed brochures and audio-visual videos urging women to conduct early diagnosis and mammogram which is considered the most important component in the process of diagnosis. Stories and videos showing the suffering of Gazan women infected with breast cancer were screened and published since they were denied access to East Jerusalem for receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments.
