ActionAid Palestine to Launch a Multi-Channel Awareness Raising Campaign: “Together to Protect Women’s Digital Rights”

Hebron -West Bank -ActionAid Palestine (AAP) launched a multi-channel awareness raising campaign titled with “Together to Protect Women’s Digital Rights”-Towards a digital online that is free from discrimination. The campaign aimed at shedding the light on electronic violence that women and young women are exposed to, forms of gender discrimination in the digital space and tools of combating these forms. The campaign will raise awareness on the most important means that could be used for digital security and promote the culture of privacy respect and personal freedoms of all community members specially women and young women on internet. The campaign will be implemented through digital and media channels in cooperation with Wattan News Agency.

The campaign includes a number of aired TV episodes hosting a group of decision-makers and experts to highlight the forms of electronic violence and gender discrimination against women and young women in the digital space and it will discuss possible tools for combating this kind of violence and discrimination. The campaign will also utilize social media to raise awareness of women and young women about the importance of utilizing the means of cyber security .This campaign complement the activities of  previous campaigns AAP organized including “ Challenge negative practices against women in world of work  and AFAQ campaign for promoting social entrepreneurship . This campaign is part of “Start Your Business” project that AAP implements in partnership with Bethlehem Business Incubator (BBI) and the Yunus Social Business Center (YSBC) and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) through International Voluntary Service for Development (VIS). The project aims mainly to promote community entrepreneurship among Palestinian youth.
