ActionAid Palestine to Continue Responding to Humanitarian Needs in Gaza Despite Huge Challenges

Gaza Strip - ActionAid Palestine (AAP) continues supporting its local partners in implementing the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip. AAP supported its partner the Palestinian Development Women Studies Association in distributing food parcels to displaced families in the middle area in Gaza Strip. These parcels included chickens and eggs, as part of Emergency Response for Displaced Families as a result of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

This response aims to strengthen the resilience of Palestinian families led by women who were displaced from different areas of the Gaza Strip to the middle areas in Gaza.

This response comes in light of the deterioration of nutritional levels among the residents of the Gaza Strip. The United Nations World Food Program revealed that two million and 200 thousand people in the Gaza Strip are still in dire need of food and livelihood assistance, 11 months after the devastating war on the Strip

The evacuation orders are hindering efforts of local and international organizations in delivering humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza strip at the time when humanitarian needs are on the rise.

The residents of the Gaza Strip are facing famine and an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis, due to the continuation of the devastating Israeli war since the seventh of last October, in light of the obstruction of the entry of aid into the Strip.

The obstacles include aid access delays: The number of trucks entering Gaza continues to drop. Essential food, medical supplies, and hygiene kits are blocked or delayed by Israeli forces risking the health and safety of Palestinians.

There is an increased risk to aid workers: Humanitarian staff are working in life-threatening conditions, with many organizations forced to suspend their work due to Israeli airstrikes, safety concerns, and displacement orders.

Despite these challenges, aid workers continue to deliver much-needed assistance under increasingly dangerous conditions. We call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire with safe and unhindered access for all humanitarians. The safety and security of aid workers must be guaranteed.
