ActionAid Palestine Organizes Digital Marketing Training for Women’s Small Businesses

Participants

Hebron – Old City, West Bank – ActionAid Palestine organized a specialized training in digital marketing for women’s small businesses as part of the ““Valiance -Basala – Empowering Women in the Old City of Hebron” project, funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The training targeted a group of women selected to receive support in developing income-generating projects through the initiative. It aimed to strengthen their digital marketing skills and enhance the growth and outreach of their businesses to ensure sustainability and success. The training further sought to economically empower women, increase their community participation, encourage them to engage in entrepreneurship, and support the sustainability of existing women-led enterprises.

Seventeen women participated in the training, which covered several key topics, including: the concept of digital marketing, the fundamentals of developing a strategic marketing plan and its components, and the mechanism of social media algorithms. The sessions also included training on Facebook publishing tools and the creation of sponsored advertisements, as well as an introduction to WhatsApp Business and its marketing uses, alongside Instagram and strategies for promoting businesses on the platform.

The “Valiance -Basala project works to support women in the Old City of Hebron by providing essential agricultural supplies and tools for vegetable farming and livestock breeding, in addition to specialized trainings. Economic activities, coupled with awareness-raising efforts, have contributed to advancing women’s economic and social empowerment by improving their access to productive resources, while also addressing the structural causes of discrimination and violence against women. This is done through collective efforts to analyze the social, political, and economic context that affects all aspects of life.
