ActionAid Palestine Organizes Climate Justice Training
Bethlehem – Occupied Palestinian Territory – The Global Platform for Training, affiliated with ActionAid Palestine, concluded a three-day Climate Justice Training that brought together young women and men aged 18 to 35 from various governorates across the West Bank at its headquarters in Bethlehem.
The training aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of climate justice and climate change concepts, while linking these issues to a human rights-based approach. It also sought to highlight the realities of climate justice in Palestine and around the world, as well as the key challenges associated with these issues.
The program included a range of interactive and participatory activities that provided participants with opportunities to exchange experiences and ideas. It also featured a field visit and practical tools designed to help participants develop community-based initiatives and projects focused on climate justice and climate change.
The training focused on the fundamental concepts of climate justice, the impacts of climate change on local communities, and the relationship between climate and human rights. It also addressed major climate challenges at both the local and global levels, while exploring the role of young people in influencing climate policies and initiatives.
Participants demonstrated strong engagement throughout the training through discussions and group activities, which contributed to deepening their understanding of climate issues and increasing their awareness of the importance of participating in efforts aimed at achieving climate justice.
At the conclusion of the training, participants developed several ideas and initiatives related to climate justice in Palestine. These initiatives will be further developed and implemented in the coming period in partnership with community-based organizations and with the support of the Global Platform for Training and ActionAid Palestine.
The Climate Justice Training contributes to strengthening the role of young women and men in addressing environmental and climate challenges, while empowering them to develop sustainable community initiatives that support more resilient communities and advance climate justice.
